Liverpool Empire and Manchester Palace Theatre and Opera House owner, Ambassador Theatre Group, has announced a new venture aimed at inspiring the next generation of theatregoers.

ATG Creative Learning Presents is a new model for productions for schools across various parts of the UK, including Greater Manchester, Liverpool and the North East. Ceative Learning will join the group’s ATG Productions to present daytime schools performances, tickets for which will be only £8.

Schools are given pre- and post-show resources, and a creative learning team will offer workshops in schools and at theatres. Each performance includes a 30-minute, post-show question and answer session with the performers and creators of the show.

The inaugural production, Macbeth, is from Out of Chaos, an award-winning, Sussex-based company that uses physical theatre and tells the story with only two actors across 80 high-octane minutes.

Grace Cameron, who is creative learning producer at the Palace and Opera House, said: “Since launching our programme in Manchester, we have been working with local schools to pesent more opportunities for young people; the response to Macbeth has been wonderful.

"I am thrilled this, and future Creative Learning Presents productions, can support important school visits to our theatres through an affordable initiative, and that we can continue to have an impact on the next generation.”

Northern dates for Macbeth are Liverpool Empire (January 26); Manchester Opera House (March 8) and Sunderland Empire (June 7). Tickets for Manchester are close to sold out, with only a few remaining for Liverpool and Sunderland. The play will also be seen in Milton Keynes, and is expected to reach upwards of 7,500 childreen.
