Alty Fringe brings theatre back to area

Live Theatre returns to the Manchester suburbs next month with a new Covid-Secure live arts event at Altrincham Garrick Theatre.

The #AltyFringe festival will showcase live theatre, dance, comedy, and live music from Nov 23-Dec 6.

The festival's length has been doubled to two weeks and the first week's programme announced.

It includes Andrew Lancel in Swan Song, Fascinating Aida’s Dillie Keane, Something About Simon and The Very Best Of Tommy Cooper, as well as children’s show Hurrah For The Pirate King.

Event Organiser Max Eden has been working with the theatre to organise the “fringe” style series of events with reduced, socially-distanced capacity in the redesigned auditorium as well as other safety measures.

The aim of the series is to show theatre can return safely and offer a platform for artists to perform in front of a live audience again.

Eden said, We’ve introduced a number of new Covid-Safety measures and reworked the venue’s capacity to make sure everyone can get back to enjoying performances at their local theatre safely. Theatre is coming back!”

Previously announced was a concert by disco stars Odyssey, with guest singer Junior.
