Back To The Future is heading back...

Poster for Back to the Future - The Musical

Back where it started in 2020, Back To The Future - The Musical returns to Manchester Opera House in July next year (July 13-August 21, 2027), as part of its first UK tour, starting in December. The tour also takes in Liverpool Empire (January 12-February 27, 2027) and Sunderland Empire (April 13-May 8).

The musical version of the famous movie had its world premiere at Opera House in 2020, where its run was cut short - in fact just three days - due to the COVID pandemic shutdown.

Co-creator Bob Gale said, “We are beyond thrilled to be returning to Manchester Opera House, which we consider the birthplace of the show, and one of the UK's best venues.

"No city has ever given us a better reception; the incredible response we received in 2020 helped to shape the show creatively in many ways. We are delighted that audiences whose theatre-going plans were derailed by COVID will be able to enjoy our production - and those who saw it in 2020 will get a chance to revisit. Our new cast is fantastic, and we're all happy to be coming home!”

Producer Colin Ingram said, “In 2020, we held the world premiere in Manchester but due to COVID we were forced to close just three days later. Fortunately, it was able to open in London in 2021, winning the Olivier award for best musical, and has run at the Adelphi Theatre for five years. I'm delighted it will now finish what it started in Manchester six years ago."

::The production will play its final performance in London in April. The critically acclaimed Olivier, WhatsOnStage and Broadway World Award-winning best new musical is also a global success, with productions currently running in North America, Japan, on Royal Caribbean Cruises, and in Germany, with a French production on the way. The show has been seen by over 5 million people worldwide so far.
