Chester's Storyhouse arts centre is looking for three new trustees to join its board and help to shape the future of the Chester arts charity.
Storyhouse is home to a theatre, library, cinema, festivals and community programmes that together serve more than 850,000 visitors a year. In the last year alone, Storyhouse supported more than 6,000 young people, created over 400 performances, both indoors and outdoors, and sold nearly 188,000 theatre tickets. Each month more than 40 community groups use the building, and its Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre is one of the country’s leading spaces, attracting around 28,000 visitors every summer.
Storyhouse Chair David Watson explained: “We’re on the lookout for passionate, committed people to join our trustees. We’re especially keen to hear from those in our priority areas, who are looking both to give back but also to gain from the experience.”
The charity is looking for applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds, who offer fresh perspectives and experiences, as well as specialist skills. No previous board experience is required.
Storyhouse is keen to hear from people under 25, as well as local people with strong networks. They are also interested in candidates with experience in commercial enterprises like food and drink, or retail; estates, operations and security, facilities management and capital projects. as well as digital and technology innovation, or libraries and archives - whether through management, heritage collections or archival presentation.
The closing date for applications is 10 am on September 29, with interviews in October
