Tiny and Tall Productions takes its stage adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Sarah Ogilvie's best-selling children's book The Detective Dog to Lancaster and Manchester in May.
The dates (The Dukes Lancaster, May 2-3 and Manchester's Z-arts, May 16) are two of the closing dates in a tour to celebrate the 10th anniversary tour of the book.
The show is aimed at 3 to 7-year-olds and particularly at young deaf children, for it makes extensive use of creative captions and British Sign Language. The charming tale of a dog with an extraordinary nose for crime has puppetry, heartwarming music and magical scent technology to sniff out laughs.
Families can follow Detective Nell and owner Peter on their sleuthing journey as they uncover the culprit of a mysterious book disappearance at Peter’s school.

The company behind the show, Tiny and Tall Productions, explores clever ways of creating accessible and imaginative theatre and has working relationships with leading deaf artists, in a collaborative mission to cater for the deaf community. Director Peta Maurice said: "This project is an important step forward in making family shows accessible to more children. We have worked hard to transform this gorgeous story into a production that deaf and hearing families can both enjoy. The music and songs will be as visually brilliant as they are fantastic to listen to.
"We also take scent technology into foyers, so the children can smell the smells that appear in the story and it becomes a multi-sensory extravaganza!
