Manchester-based Divided Culture Co will premiere the award-winning Bears, Bears, Bears at Contact Theatre, Manchester from May 6-16.
Local writer Natalie Beech's play won Divided Culture’s inaugural Playwriting Prize last year - a prize dedicated to championing exceptional new stories from writers across the North West.
Described as "a wild and electric drama that explores compromises within relationships, nature vs
nurture, and what it means to be a woman", Bears, Bears, Bears follows feminist Jen after she commits a violent act with her partner Jake and becomes obsessed with a survey asking women if they’d rather be alone in a forest with a man or a bear.
Beech’s play will be directed by Connor Goodwin (Yen, Plays for a Poor Theatre). The cast is Jenna
Sian O'Hara (MIDAS MAN, Billy Smith), as Jen; Jordan Akkaya (Eastenders, Pushers), as Jake, and Shifaa Arfan
(Coronation Street, Memory Stone), as Jodi.
