From opera to panto in Buxton

Buxton Opera House has unveiled an eclectic autumn mix of drama, hit comedy, live music, opera, and family entertainment to the historic opera house and accompanying Pavilion Arts Centre.

The Last Laugh

Theatrical highlights include hit West End comedy The Last Laugh (August 25–29), alongside the Olivier award-winning adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic romance Pride & Prejudice - Sort Of (October 5-10).

Pride and Prejudice - Sort Of

Opera lovers will welcome the return of English Touring Opera with Gluck’s Orpheus & Eurydice (October 23) and a double-bill of Elena Langer’s Ariadne and Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas (october 24), while families can look forward to The Princess & The Frog (December 12–23) and the theatre’s festive pantomime Sleeping Beauty (December 4-January 2).

English Touring Opera in Orpheus

Audiences can also catch a glimpse of 2027's programme, with major productions including smash-hit comedy The Full Monty (March 29-April 3, 2027) and the gripping stage adaptation of The Silence of the Lambs (May 17-22).

Comedy programming this autumn will includes shows from John Cleese, Al Murray, Phil Wang and Paul Merton, among others, and both venues will continue to offer a variety of live music, spoken word, and independent theatre.
