Manchester arts centre HOME kicks off its new theatre season on home ground with The Home We Made (January 28-31), co-created by Manchester-based company Malandra Jacks and the people of Manchester.
Performed by local artists who have been part of HOME’s community programme, Home from HOME, the show invites audiences into the lives of those born and raised in the city, as well as those who have made Manchester their home.
Louise Harney, head of the theatre's creative engagement team, said: “We believe stories of this city belong on our stages. The Home We Made has brought people together from across Manchester to create a bold, professional production that reflects the richness and creativity of the communities we work with every day.”
Malandra Jacks, founded by Manchester artists Chloe Malandra and Josh Wilkinson, has worked with Manchester International Festival, Contact Theatre and Manchester City Council, among others. The company won the "best performance" award at the Manchester Culture Awards in 2024 for the show Census - which was also a collaboration with HOME.
