Just for One Day goes touring

Poster for forthcoming tour of Just For One Day, the Live Aid musical

Live Aid musical Just For One Day is adding more days to a packed 2027 touring schedule. Opening at Curve in Leicester in March 2027, the producers have now added Sheffield Lyceum (November 2-6, 2027) and Newcastle Theatre Royal (November 9-13, 2027) in our region to previously-announced dates at Manchester Opera House (May 4-15), Sunderland Empire (June 8-12), Hull New Theatre (July 6-10); Leeds Grand (July 13-17) and Liverpool Empire (August 3-7).

It was 41 years ago that music attempted to unite the world with two massive concerts, in the UK and America, broadcast to around 1.5 billion people live around the globe. Just For One Day reveals some of the behind-the-scenes stories of the biggest concert in music history and relates why Bob Geldof and co-organiser Midge Ure and others decided to raise money to help starving Ethiopians.

With hit songs by Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Who, U2, Queen, Madonna, The Police, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Diana Ross and many more, viewers can experience classic songs from the artists who made history.

Just For One Day - The Live Aid Musical enjoyed a highly successful two-year run in London until February this year, following a successful American in Toronto and a record-breaking world premiere at London’s Old Vic in 2024.

The musical will continue to support the work of The Band Aid Charitable Trust. Ten per cent of ticket sales go into the trust, which has already raised £1.6million from the show.

Since 1984, the trust has raised more than £145 million to help eradicate poverty in Ethiopia and beyond. The trust’s efforts have funded food, medicine, housing, hospitals, water, infrastructure, schools and more.
