A new dance musical featuring an electric soundtrack of Latin pop anthems will star Strictly champion Pasha Kovalev and boyband The Wanted's Siva Kaneswaran from August.
La Bamba!, which also features rising dance star Inez Fernandez, is a pulsating dance musical featuring rhythms from across the Latin genre, from traditional folk songs to chart-topping hits. It's at The Lowry in Salford from August 17-19, and the tour also visits York (Grand Opera House November 7-11) and Blackpool (Grand Theatre, November 21-25).
La Bamba! combines Latin, R&B, and timeless rock and pop to tell the feelgood story of a young girl with a big voice, big dreams, and big heart. The show explores how music can transform a generation and celebrate a community.
Sofia, a 17-year-old from Los Angeles, has music in her blood and has dreams of superstardom. Inspired by her musical heroes, she mixes music from her roots with the music in her heart and brings together a community never felt more divided.
La Bamba! features choreography by Graziano Di Prima, Erica Da Silva and Giada Lini, with music from across the Latin genre arranged by award-winning musical director Alfonso Casado-Trigo.
