A Bristol-based collective of nine founded in 2011, The Wardrobe Ensemble is celebrating its 15th anniversary year with new comedy Party Season, a co-production with Salford's Lowry arts centre - where it plays from May 12-16.

About privilege, party rings and the pressures of being a parent, the show is described as "a fever dream where class identities collide, social niceties unravel, and sleep-deprived parents do their best to hold it all together when three children’s parties take place across one weekend."

Known for energetic, irreverent, silly and serious plays that dissect the twenty-first century experience, The Wardrobe Experience has enjoyed acclaim for work including The Last of the Pelican Daughters, Mog’s Christmas, The Future of Sex, and Education, Education, Education, which transferred to the West End.

Co-produced by Royal & Derngate, Northampton, Party Season is co-directed by Northampton's Royal & Derngate artistic director (and Wardrobe Ensemble founding member) Jesse Jones and the company's Helena Middleton.

The cast includes Wardrobe Ensemble members Tom England, Jesse Meadows and Ben Vardy (all seen most recently in Mog’s Christmas); James Newton (Moby Dick, Simple8) and Kerry Lovell (The Last of the Pelican Daughters).
