The award-winning production of hit musical The Bodyguard will tour the UK again next year, with northern dates including Bradford Alhambra (February 7-11); Liverpool Empire (March 20-25); Manchester Palace (April 3-15); Leeds Grand (June 12-17) and Venue Cymru, Llandudno (June 19-24), with more dates to be announced.
Based on Lawrence Kasdan’s 1992 Oscar-nominated Warner Brothers movie starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, The Bodyguard is a romantic thriller featuring classic songs such as Queen of the Night, So Emotional, One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, Run to You, I Have Nothing, I Wanna Dance with Somebody and one of the biggest hits of the past half-century (in fact it's 50 next year), I Will Always Love You.
Directed by Thea Sharrock, with a book by Oscar-winning Alex Dinelaris, the stage musical had its world premiere at the Adelphi in London’s West End and was nominated for four Olivier Awards. A sold-out, 18-month UK and Ireland tour followed before a second West End run and second tour in 2018-19. The show has played to over 3.6 million people in 15 countries and 45 American cities.
