Oliver Twist! at Storyhouse: not to be confused with Oliver!

Chester Storyhouse’s production of Oliver Twist! is offering plenty of Covid-aware and other special performances during its six-week run (December 4-January 16).

Despite the exclamation mark of the title, this is not the famous Lionel Bart musical (which is simply Oliver!), but an adaptation by Alex Clifton and the Storyhouse creative team under director Liz Wright.

Storyhouse – currently, officially the UK’s most welcoming theatre – is staging its new show to full audiences, but with social distancing available on selected dates. There will also be relaxed, captioned, signed, audio-described and streamed performances.

The role of Oliver will be shared by four young members of Storyhouse Youth Theatre: Juliette Dear, Jacob Collinson, Luwe Hayes-Roberts and Reuben Connor.

Cynthia Emeagi is Fagin, Keshini Misha is Dodger and Bill is played by Matthew Ganley, who returns to Storyhouse after appearing as Jacob Marley in last year’s Christmas Carol.
