Olivier-winning stage and screen actor Jill Halfpenny returns to Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre in Noël Coward’s 1930s evergreen comedy classic Private Lives (March 27-May2), playing the role of volatile divorced socialite Amanda Prynne.

Jill was last at the Exchange for A Taste Of Honey in 2024. Her extensive stage credits include Paulette Bonafonte in Legally Blonde, for which she won an Olivier award; Chicago; Abigail's Party and Way Upstream. Her TV credits include The Feud, Daddy Issues, After The Flood and Everything I know About Love. Most recently she starred in the Paramount+ psychological thriller Girl Taken.
She said: "The Royal Exchange has always had a special place in my heart, so I am delighted to be returning to the theatre to celebrate its 50th anniversary season. Private Lives perfectly showcases Noel Coward's genius."
The production will be directed by award-winning director Blanche McIntyre, who was last at the Exchange to direct Pinter's The Birthday Party in 2013.
Further casting to be announced.
