Salford theatre and arts complex The Lowry has announced shows for the week following the step three deadline of the government's lockdown roadmap .
Performances will start in the week from Monday, May 17, as long as the expected May 10 marker passes without incident.
The first show will be outdoor performances of the critically-acclaimed production C-O-N-T-A-C-T at Salford Quays and Manchester city centre from May 18-June 27.
The centre's galleries will reopen at weekends from May 27, and the first indoor, socially-distanced performance will take place on May 30 as comedian Michael Spicer brings The Room Next Door to the venue’s Lyric Theatre. Northern Ballet will present Dangerous Liaisons from June 1-5.
The Lowry has also announced a major new show for 2022: Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Les Misérables, from March 29-April 23. Tickets go on-sale at 10am tomorrow (Wednesday) here.
Lowry chief executive Julia Fawcett said: “Words cannot express how excited we are to be putting plans in place for the reopening of our building. I’m incredibly proud of the online and off-site activity we have delivered during the pandemic – and much of that style of delivery is here to stay for the future.”
