Aardman's famous Shaun The Sheep is taking to the stage at Manchester's Aviva Studio (December 11-January 4) for the European premiere of Shaun The Sheep's Circus Show, a unique collaboration between the Academy award-winning animators of Wallace & Gromit, Morph and Chicken Run and Australian contemporary circus company Circa.

Blurring the lines between movement, dance, theatre and circus, the show has already been a hit in Australia and Singapore.

Shaun, Bitzer and the Flock entertain the Farmer - and audience - with feats of daredevil acrobatics and circus skills including tumbling, juggling, the aerial hoop, aerial silks, trapeze, the Spanish web and the Chinese pole, all mixed with Aardman’s heartwarming comedy.

Yaron Lifschitz, artistic director and CEO of Circa, said: “Melding the worlds of stage and screen and incorporating the extreme physicality of circus, without losing the emotional depth and charm of the original, is a major creative challenge. It's the sort of thing we thrive on at Circa.”

Ngaio Harding-Hill, head of attractions and live experiences at Aardman, added: "We're delighted Shaun the Sheep's Circus Show will be making its European debut in Manchester. Circus performance is an ideal medium for capturing the slapstick physicality of our characters."
