Springing into 2023 at Theatr Clwyd

Despite its continuing multi-million-pound redevelopment scheme, Mold's Theatr Clwyd has announced a blockbuster new spring season that includes re-runs of previously sold-out shows as well as new productions.

One of the new ones is Truth or Dare, (April 27-May 13), no less than 10 new mischievous plays (five under Truth, five under Dare) showcasing Welsh talent.

Following its sell-out run in 2018, The Great Gatsby returns from June 15-August 27. Produced by Theatr Clwyd and The Guild of Misrule, audiences are invited to a roaring 1920s party. Dress up and dance all night long – well, maybe not all night – at the historical Dolphin pub in Mold.

Drama offerings include When Darkness Falls (February 23-25 ); The Shawshank Redemption, (February 27-March 5) – based of course on Stephen King’s famous 1982 novella, and the multi-award-winning Home, I’m Darling (March 14-18).

Musicals include Showstopper! The Improvised Musical (March 23-25), a fully-realised musical created live from audience suggestions, and West End hit Heathers (March 28-April 1). Mid-Wales Opera return with their production of Hansel & Gretel (March 7).

Comedy Clubs continue monthly through the spring with acts including Andrew Bird, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Jonny Pelham, Jenny Collier, Raul Kohli and many more. Family fun and adventures feature musical Shark In The Park (February 21-22); I Want My Hat Back Trilogy (11-12 Mar); The Singing Mermaid (April 15-16) and The Bubble Show (April 13).
