Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the film, a new stage version of The Full Monty launches a UK tour at Sheffield Lyceum next January (15-30, 2027).

Other northern dates announced include: Bradford Alhambra, March 1-6; Hull New Theatre, March 22-27; Buxton Opera House, March 29-April 3; Manchester Opera House, April 5-10; Liverpool Empire, June 21-16, and York Grand Opera House, July 12-17.

Academy Award winning British screen writer Simon Beaufoy’s play tells the story of an ordinary group of men striving to reclaim their dignity and pride. Gaz and his mates find themselves down on their luck, cast aside and underestimated but, determined to fight back, they hit on a novel way to restore their finances - even if it means revealing more than they imagined.

The stage production invites audiences to relive the iconic music of the 90s and cheer on the lads as they prepare to put on the show of their lives.

Simon Beaufoy said: "A lot has changed in Britain since The Full Monty appeared thirty years ago. What hasn’t changed is our need for laughter and dignity.

"I’m delighted the Monty Men are back on the road with all their flaws, jokes and wobbly bits, once again bringing a bit of much-needed joy to audiences.”

Star casting is still to be announced.
