After playing to packed houses across America - where it has enjoyed sold-out Off-Broadway seasons and tours - Dog Man The Musical is on a UK tour, with northern dates including Halifax Victoria, October 3-4 plus the just-announced Chester Storyhouse (February 19-21, 2027) and Blackpool Grand (May 14-16).
The family-friendly musical adventure is based on Dav Pilkey’s phenomenally successful canine crimefighter Dog Man series, which has sold more than 70 million copies and been translated into 48 languages since the first book in 2016.
Best friends George and Harold have been creating comics for years but now they are 10 they figure it’s time to level up and write a musical based on their favourite character, the crime-biting sensation who is part-dog, part-man, all hero.
With the head of a dog and the body of a policeman, Dog Man loves to fight crime... and chew the furniture.
The show has a book and lyrics by two-time Emmy award winner Kevin Del Aguila and music by Brad Alexander. The cast includes Renan Teodoro (Anyone Can Whistle, I Am Harvey Milk), as Dog Man; Ricardo Mendes (Carmen, Pinnochio) as George, and Peter Lavery (Becoming Nancy, Jack and the Beanstalk) as Harold.
