The first Yorkshire Fringe Festival debuts in July (11-19), starting with a special launch event on July 2 offering a preview of the week's events.

The festival aims to champion an "eclectic and inclusive" mix of both emerging and established talent, bringing together performers, creatives and audiences from across the region for theatre, comedy, music and spoken-word entertainment in a variety of venues across the county.

Local writer Jonathan Hall, of the Yorkshire Fringe Committee, said: “We’re excited to launch the new festival. We’re aiming to establish Yorkshire as a premier destination for fringe theatre in the UK by creating an entertaining, accessible and diverse programme. We look forward to making this inaugural Yorkshire Fringe Festival a fantastic success.”
