Gods of Salford brings 25 young people from across the city together with three professional actors for a high-energy theatrical adventure that reimagines Greek myths through the lens of Salford’s working-class spirit (April 29-30).
The show is part of Lowry's 25th anniversary celebrations and more young people will work behind the scenes, gaining hands-on experience in technical and backstage roles as they help to mark the theatre's commitment to creativity, opportunity and making the arts available to everyone.

Commissioned by the Salford arts complex and co-created with theatre company Not Too Tame, Gods of Salford blends ancient legend with real stories from local communities.
Julia Fawcett OBE, the Lowry's chief executive, said: “Gods of Salford will celebrate the trail-blazers and changemakers who have been part of our story so far; those who will undoubtedly help to shape our future – the inspirational and talented young people of our city."
Jimmy Fairhust, artistic director of Not Too Tame, added: “ We’re delighted and honoured to have been commissioned by Lowry to create a show that reimagines Salford as Olympus. We're, bringing big, bold characters and socially relevant art to a great night out.
"This production provides a diverse group of Salfordians the chance to experience professional on- and off-stage opportunities. They will work alongside professionals from similar backgrounds, while being treated as Not Too Tame professional artists. The results so far have been astounding."
