Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake - the one with the male swans - is back at The Lowry in Salford from November 19-30 – before a London season and celebratory 30th anniversary 2025 UK tour.

This reinvention of Tchaikovsky's masterpiece caused a sensation when it premiered in November 1995, and has become the most successful dance theatre production ever.

Sir Matthew said, “When our Swan Lake was premiered, it created a sensation that none of us could have predicted. I think we knew we had a good idea, but could never have dreamt of the impact it would have on all of us, our audiences and the wider dance world.

“The inspiration of our Swan Lake is central to our talent development programme at our producers New Adventures, especially in our Cygnet School and Swan School, where we aim to develop the dancers of the future to feature in our many productions. Indeed, this new revival will feature dancers who have been nurtured through these programmes, or through their professional development as New Adventures company members, with many of them making their debuts in these coveted roles."

Alongside performances, New Adventures will offer activities to encourage talent development and improve the wellbeing of children and young people through dance. This special Swan Lake activities programme will be In addition to New Adventures' regular schools tour, and details will be announced soon.
