Winner of the 2026 WhatsOnStage award for best new play and an Olivier award nominee for best new entertainment or comedy, The Comedy About Spies follows two sold-out West End seasons as it embarks on its first national tour, next year.

The show will land at the Lowry in Salford (June 23-26); Leeds Grand (September 14-18) and Sheffield Lyceum (September 21-25).

When a rogue British agent steals plans for a top-secret weapon, CIA and KGB spies descend on London’s Piccadilly Hotel in pursuit of the elusive file. Enter a clueless young couple, an actor angling for an exciting spy movie role... and enough double agents to confuse even the sharpest operative.

The show is produced by Mischief, the multi-award-winning producers behind the global Play That Goes Wrong series, and written by original Mischief members Henry Lewis and Henry Shields.

Henry Lewsis said: “We are so excited for the show to head out on tour. We’re always looking to add new venues, so if you have a large front room please do get in touch...”

:: The Play That Goes Wrong is currently celebrating its 12th year at London’s Duchess Theatre, making it the fourth-longest running play and the 20th-longest running show in West End history.

Meanwhile A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong is back on tour, calling at Manchester Opera House, (November 17-21); Leeds Grand (December 8-12); York's Grand Opera House (January 26-30) and Newcastle Theatre Royal (February 23-27).
