Join Neddy on a high-voltage, one-woman rollercoaster through grief, sisterhood and the world’s greatest music festival at Salford's Lowry and the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield.
Hark At Her Productions offer a "night of banging 1990s tunes" as performer Jo Dakin plays Neddy in Neddy Goes to Glasto, returning to the world's greatest musical festival 30 years after her first visit, to celebrate her sister's 50th birthday - the only trouble is, her sister is dead...
Neddy is desperate for a weekend off from herself and from everything. With half an 'E' (though possibly it's a paracetamol with a smiley face) coursing through her veins, her bid for freedom looks like being scuppered by the unwanted spiritual guidance of Payday Paula - whose bag contains something that makes Neddy very angry indeed. Glastonbury is full of surprises though - and there’s one waiting for Neddy in the Shangri-La field.
Corrina O'Beirne's play is at the Lowry's Aldridge Studio on May 22 & 23, then goes to. Huddersfield for performances on May 27 & 28.
Jo Dakin has performed stand-up comedy, and in theatre, TV and film since leaving Salford University with a Performing Arts degree 25 years ago. Her credits include Coronation Street, Heartbeat and Emmerdale, and she starred in one-person show Back Seat Betty, which won the Best Drama award at the Greater Manchester Fringe in 2022. Last year she played Karen in movie Treading Water, which was nominated for Best Independent Film at the National Film Awards.
Brighton-based writer Corrina O’Beirne's play Ifs and Buts was a finalist in the Kenneth Branagh International Award for New Drama Writing. Her work has been published in several online communities. She completed a playwright development programme with the Oxford Playhouse in 2019/20 and her work has seince been seen in several theatres.
Hark At Her Productions was co-founded by Corrina O’Beirne and actor/director Prue Griffiths (who directs this show) in 2025. The company, based in Hove and Huddersfield, the company has a focus on work by women over 45, and this is its first production.
