Marking a significant new partnership for Keswick's Theatre By The Lake, Lark Rise To Candleford (March 26-April 18) is the first collaboration between TBTL and Newbury's acclaimed Watermill Theatre.
It's a partnership of equals: both theatres are nominated for the "best regional production" title at this year's What's On Stage awards, TBTL for its multi-theatre, touring co-production of Pride and Prejudice, and the Watermill for its revival of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Written by Tamsin Kennard and based on the much-loved book by Flora Thompson, this new staging of Lark Rise has original music performed by an ensemble cast (a Watermill speciality) as it tells a story of 19th century Oxfordshire rural life and cherished memories.

Bringing the characters to life will be Rosalind Ford as central character Dorcas Lane; playing both father and uncle John will be Christopher Glover, while Godfrey Parish will be played by Zrey Sholapurkar.
Rosalind Steele (Spitfire Girls with Tilted Wig, which returns to Theatre by the Lake in May), will be Mother. Jessica Temple (Hamlet with the RSC) will play Laura, and in the role of Edmund will be Alex Wilson.
Bryn Holding, Lark Rise to Candleford's director - and co-artistic director of associate company Hammerpuzzle, said. "We have gathered together a stellar cast and creative team for this fresh adaptation. An ensemble of actor-musicians will unfold this resonant tale.”
