Oldham Coliseum is holding open auditions for young people to feature in its Christmas show - which won't, of course, be one of the theatre's famous pantomimes.

Oldham's Christmas Fair is instead exactly as it sounds, veteran playwright Jim Cartwright's comic recreation of the staple of church and community groups of the entire western world, so there is plenty of scope for fun (see here).

Having already searched for adult cast members to play alongside star actor and Oldhamer John Henshaw, director Jimmy Fairhurst of co-producers Not Too Tame is now searching for people aged 8-21 to take part.

The immersive show runs from December 17-January 2 in a specially-dressed area of Chadderton Town Hall, but those selected must be available from November 17 for the whole of the rehearsal period, as well as the show's run.

Auditions take place on November 7 at Oldham Theatre Workshop's HQ in Greaves Street, Oldham, but likely candidates must register to audition by November 5. No experience is necessary.
