Plucky Culprit Productions is a new, Manchester-based, self-funded theatre company "focused on producing kooky original stories with thought-provoking twists - all on a shoestring budget."
Founded with a group of friends by scriptwriter and National Youth Theatre-trained actor Emmy Khan, Plucky Culprit will be bringing its first show, the musical The Girl With The Enamel Eyes, to Greater Manchester Fringe (July 7-9, The Fitzgerald, Stevenson Square).
Based on the story from the ballet Coppelia, the show tells of young, romantic Franz. When he first sees the mysterious girl up on the balcony of Dr Coppelius’ workshop, he is sure she will change his life - but doesn’t realise that might not be for the better…
Emmy, who has both written the piece and takes the title role, has already had her work staged for the Write Club Festival 2025 at London's Hope Theatre, and has helped to develop projects for Netflix, ITV, Film4, and Amazon Prime. She has performed at Edinburgh and Manchester Fringe Festivals and in the West End.
Plucky Culprit founders and members Jake Smeeton, Emily Millington and Christina Mellor have all previously performed at the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival.
