Wigan-based ThickSkin theatre company takes thriller It Walks Around The House At NIght to Salford's Lowry from November 3-7 and before that to Northern Stage, Newcastle from October 29-31.

Written by Manchester-based Tim Foley - whose work includes Royal Exchange Bruntwood prize winner Electric Rosary - audiences are warned of "loud and sudden noises, haze, flashing lights, occasional strong language, horror imagery and jump-scares."

When an out-of-work actor takes a job playing a ghost at an old countryside manor he expects a few cheap scares, but soon uncovers something far more frightening as he begins to suspect something other than him is lurking in the shadows...

George Naylor (The Mousetrap, West End and tour) brings an expert blend of sheer dread and sharp comedy as Joe, while joining him as The Dancer is Oliver Baines (The House Party, Chichester Festival Theatre, Frantic Assembly’s Othello), as the haunting presence in the shadows.

Directed by ThickSkin's artistic director Neil Bettles (How Not To Drown; Bedknobs & Broomsticks; The Unreturning) the tale features immersive sound created by Tony award-winning sound designer Pete Malkin (Othello; The Encounter; Let The Right One In) and visual effects from Olivier award-winning video and lighting designer Joshua Pharo.

Tim said: "We’ve had an incredible reception to the production so far and I’m thrilled this ghost story will continue to horrify audiences across the UK. The question is, are you brave enough to join us?
