Sorcerer at HOME for Christmas

The world premiere of a new musical version of The Sorcerer's Apprentice will be the family Christmas show at HOME Manchester (November 27-January 2, 2027).
Based partly on a section of classic Disney animation Fantasia by Richard Hough (book and lyrics) and composer Alexander S Bermange, the show sees brooms coming to life and love blossoming as apprentice Eva discovers the possibilities of her new magical powers in an updated, gender-swapped twist on the story
The show was first seen in an earlier, digital version, which won praise when first released in 2021. This new version features new music and songs by award-winning Alexander Bermange and direction by Kirk Jameson (Song From Far Away at HOME, starring Will Young; Glorious!, Hope Mill Theatre; Madagascar The Musical, UK tour). The full cast and full creative team is still to be announced.
