St Helens Theatre Royal will present a special live streamed performance of panto Beauty and the Beast on Christmas Eve.

Tickets for the 1.30pm matinee performance are on sale now. Audiences at home will be able to watch the live show alongside the Covid-protected audience in the theatre - quite a rare event, since many streamed shows this Christmas will be recordings.

The Theatre Royal reopened in a tier two area on December 11, after being closed for nine months by the pandemic. The panto has been popular with local audiences starved of live shows.

The cast of Beauty and the Beast  features Jamie Greer as Potty Polly, Olivia Sloyan as Belle and Andrew Geater as The Beast. Tickets for home viewers are £20 per device – effectively per household – and can be booked on the theatre website. The live show continues until January 3, barring any change in the area’s Covid tier level.
