Musicals star Beverley Knight MBE (Sister Act, The Drifters Girl, Memphis The Musical) will reprise her Olivier award-winning role as Emmeline Pankhurst for the UK tour of new Suffragette musical Sylvia, arriving at Salford's Lowry a year from now (October 19-24, 2026).

Sylvia Pankhurst - the rebellious Suffragette middle child of Emmeline - takes centre stage in a hip hop, funk and soul musical relating how she ignited a revolution for working women, the impoverished and the silenced.

Beverley Knight said: “I couldn't be more chuffed to reprise my role as Emmeline Pankhurst one more time! The spirit, courage and determination of the suffragettes, and in particular Sylvia Pankhurst, is so brilliantly celebrated in this show."

Helen Pankhurst - an activist and scholar, and granddaughter of Sylvia Pankhurst, said: “I’m thrilled Sylvia will be touring the UK next autumn, reaching audiences everywhere including Greater Manchester, the birthplace of the Suffragette movement, after which it culminates in performances at the Royal Albert Hall, which became a powerful stage for some of the most memorable events in the fight for women to gain the vote."

Sylvia is supported by a grant from Arts Council England. Hannah Lake, the organisation's director of touring said: "We're thrilled to support the national tour, so more people can experience world-class storytelling and performances."
