Producers have named their cast for a three-way production of Macbeth coming up from February.
The show opens at Hull Truck Theatre (February 5-28), before moving to Bolton Octagon (March 4-28) and finally playing Derby Theatre (April 1-18), and will be directed by Hull Truck artistic director Mark Babych.
This the third year of a successful partnership that has seen the trio of mid-scale theatres produce and programme artistically ambitions drama
based on GCSE texts studied in schools.

Oliver Alvin-Wilson (Troilus and Cressida at Shakespeare’s Globe; Dr Strangelove in the West End; All Of Us at the National Theatre and A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Young Vic, among others), will play Macbeth, with Jo Mousley as Lady Macbeth.
Jo has worked extensively in theatre; her credits include: Grace Pervades (Theatre Royal Bath's Ralph Fiennes season) and Hamlet (Leeds Playhouse), as well as TV stints in Polterheist, Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
Banquo will be played by Daniel Poyser; Simon Trinder will be Macduff, Colin Hurley appears as Duncan and Cayvan Coates will play Malcolm. Josie Morley, Livie Dalee and Deb Pugh will play the three witches.
Mark Babych said: “Macbeth is the latest production of our co-producing partnership with Derby and Bolton - previous collaborations include Animal Farm in 2024) and Of Mice and Men earlier in 2025. I’m delighted to be working with such a gifted company and creative team.”
Roddy Gauld, who is chief executive at the Octagon, said: "Macbeth remains a powerful and relevant play for our modern times and we can't wait for audiences to experience this performance - especially the groups of young people who will be joining us."
