Flipping the coin and following the fictional journey of English people having to seek asylum in another country, Asylum Link Merseyside is touring its show Afloat to the Octagon Theatre in Bolton (May 17); Unity Theatre in Liverpool (May 23-24); the Lowther Pavilion in Lytham St Annes (May 29); The Studio in Widnes (May 31), and Theatre Porto in Ellesmere Port (June 7).

The show follows individuals living in England who are forced to flee when their dream to make Britain great turns into a living nightmare. Based on real stories collected by members of Asylum Link, Afloat puts the audience in the position of seeking asylum and facing the daily struggles it poses.

As well as professional actors and devisers, the company includes 10 members of Asylum Link Merseyside, one of whom said: "Afloat is one of the strongest and most powerful projects I’m working on. It helps us to improve our vision and explain how we are suffering and living in silence; it helps to improve better and safer environments for upcoming generations”
