Keswick's Theatre by the Lake has created a series of curated walks to combine its shows with the beauty of the Lake District landscape.
The walks are part of a new collaboration between the Keswick Tourism and Trade Association and Ordnance Survey, bringing together culture, community and the great outdoors.
The partnership invites local businesses to share their favourite walking routes, which will then be featured on the OS Maps app as part of a dedicated Keswick Walking Routes collection, helping visitors discover the area through the eyes of those who know it best.
Each of the theatre's routes has been designed to show off some of the most breathtaking scenery in the area, while offering the option to return for a performance - creating a full-day experience mixing adventure and culture.
Ordnance Survey’s senior partnerships manager, Celia Way, said: “This opportunity to showcase walking among Keswick’s dramatic scenery and combining it with drama housed at the Theatre by the Lake was too good an idea to turn down.
"A day out, navigating a walking route using OS Maps among eye-catching scenery, with the option of a thrilling show at the theatre on top, is fun, enjoyable and safe; what we think getting outside is all about.”
Theatre by the Lake marketing manager Rachel Kearns said: “Theatre by the Lake is rooted in this landscape, and the walks celebrate not only the beauty that surrounds us but also the community and creativity that thrive here.
"It’s about encouraging people to explore, to connect, and to experience theatre made with passion in an extraordinary place.”
