Macbeth Oldham run cancelled

Oldham Coliseum's much-needed "comeback" show, a reimagined version of Shakespeare's Macbeth - the first under the direction of new creative director Nick Bagnall - has had the rest of its run cancelled.
The theatre cites "unforeseen circumstances" for the ending of the production, which started on Friday with actors Andrew Sheridan and Erin Shanagher as the Macbeths, and was due to continue until November 7.
Ticket-holders were told in a message from the theatre that refunds would automatically be made, but were given no further information.
The show - which brought the action into the 1970s and restaged Macbeth as a night club drama of shady proprietors and shadier customers - was announced way back in the summer, following the appointment of Nick Bagnall, and there has since been no indication that anything was awry with the production. Indeed the run opened apparently without incident at the weekend, after weeks of publicity regarding the "theatre" being used - Oldham's nightclubs Liquid and Envy - and the strong cast.
But today the theatre has been unforthcoming about the reason for the closure - with at the time of writing only a brief banner across the top of its website proclaiming "Macbeth has been cancelled. All tickets will be automatically refunded." Neither has the theatre taken to social media about the show.
