The 11-strong cast for Theatr Clwyd's new look at Dylan Thomas' classic verse drama Under Milk Wood (March 16-April 4) includes renowned actors from around Wales and the UK, with credits in major productions on national stages as well as television and film.
First heard in 1954 - originally a drama for BBC radio - the play is being reimagined as part of a fresh staging directed by Theatr Clwyd’s artistic director, Kate Wasserberg.
She said: “It’s a play that lots of people have found difficult to understand, so we really wanted to create a production that was very visual as well as showcasing
Dylan Thomas’ beautiful poetry.”

Set in the fictional Welsh seaside town of Llareggub ("buggerall" backwards), a narrator - Richard Burton in the original production - invites the audience to listen to the dreams and innermost thoughts of the inhabitants.
They include Mrs Ogmore-Pritchard, relentlessly nagging her two dead husbands; Captain Cat, reliving his seafaring times; the two Mrs Dai Breads; Organ Morgan, obsessed with his music, and Polly Garter, pining for her dead lover.
The full cast is Douglas Walker (The Visit, National Theatre); Caroline Parker (Signs of a Star Shaped Diva, Theatre Royal Stratford East); Macsen McKay (First Three Drops, Taking Flight); Izzi McCormack-John (Hot Chicks, Grand Ambition); Adam Bassett (Hullraisers, Channel 4); Georgia Griffiths (Power Of Words, Theatr na nOg); Sean Carlsen (His Dark Materials, BBC); Jacob Coleman (Nye, National Theatre); Amy Conachan (Blood Wedding, Graeae Theatre); Mirain Fflur (Gwaith/Cartref, S4C) and Chandu Gopalakrishnan (High Times and Dirty Monsters, 20 Stories High).
British Sign Language, creative captioning and audio description will be integrated into every performance.
