Liverpool's Everyman and Playhouse sister theatres have teamed up - like many others - with major digital theatre company Digital Theatre+ to digitally capture and distribute at least one piece of new theatre work a year.

The partnership covers DT+'s digital education platform, and the first production - of Samantha O’Rourke's Our Town Needs A Nandos - is already available free for schools in the Liverpool city region.

The theatres’ relationship with Digital Theatre+ goes back to 2011, when a production of Macbeth, with David Morrissey, was streamed (and is still available). The new partnership will cover not only theatre productions, but will add extra content and behind-the-scenes resources for education both here and abroad.

Announcing the new relationship, theatres CEO Mark Da Vanzo said: "We’re looking forward to collaborating long term, creating exciting new shows that can bring real educational benefit to schools.”

The theatres will be able to offer their productions and other resources free to local schools.

Schools within Liverpool City Region can email here to get free access to the first production, while potential users outside Liverpool can find the content here
