Frantic Assembly will tour its award-winning take on Shakespeare’s Othello this autumn, arriving at Liverpool Playhouse (October 4-8); York Theatre Royal (October 18-22) and Salford’s Lowry (November 15-19).
This Othello, rooted in a volatile 21st Century, is directed by the company’s artistic director and co-founder Scott Graham and so far hasn't even been cast.
Othello’s passionate affair with Desdemona becomes the catalyst for jealousy, betrayal, revenge and the darkest intents in a version originally presented to tremendous acclaim in 2008 and 2014.
This updated version is a co-production with Curve Leicester.
