Kickass Fantastically Great Women at The Lowry for Christmas

Following a hugely-successful UK tour, kickass musical Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World is heading to The Lowry in Salford for Christmas (December 5-January 7).

Based on the popular children’s book of the same title by Suffragette relative Kate Pankhurst, and adapted by Chris Bush, the show has an original score by hit songwriter Miranda Cooper (Girls Aloud; Sugababes; Kylie Minogue) and Jennifer Decilveo (Miley Cyrus; Ben Platt).

Follow young heroine Jade on a school trip, where she meets impressive historical women in the Gallery of Greatness. From explorers to artists, scientists to secret agents, hear the stories of some of history’s strongest mothers, sisters and daughters, all independent icons who really did change the world.

Celebrated – and often forgotten – female stories include those of Rosa Parks, Sacagawea, Amelia Earhart, Marie Curie, Mary Seacole, Frida Kahlo, Jane Austen, and Pankhurst’s own relative, Emmeline.
