Liverpool Playhouse and Everyman's Christmas season of Cinderella and The Woman in Black was seen by 45,000 people, a quarter of whom were children and young people attending as families, with schools and youth groups.
The theatres are hoping for the same or better for Christmas 2024, with the "Rock 'n' Roll panto" Rapunzel at the Everyman (November 16-January 18) and The Rocky Horror Show (December 3-January 4) at the Playhouse.
CEO Mark Da Vanzo said: "For the first time, we went on sale with our iconic Rock ‘n’ Roll panto for 2024 as we opened the 2023 show, and Rapunzel has already sold over 4,000 seats.
"Adding the Rocky Horror Show to our Christmas calendar is an incredible coup for us."
